~~Advanced Fighting Tips~~

~Other Styles~

Speed: Two players typing out attacks and connects as fast as they can. Posts are usually no more then a few words long, and very vague. This is one of the least favored styles, simply because it relies on the typists physical speed, then their imagination and creativity

DnD Or Dice: These styles involve the rolling of dice just like in a real Dungeons and Dragons game. Sometimes the DM rolls physical dice at his computer, other times there are dice that are rolled online. This style is the second most popular style, again not being Speed oriented.

Fast Descriptive: This is a combination of Speed and TBing. In these games, characters type out attack posts as fast as they can, usually eight word minimum, and respond as fast as they can as well. There are many variants to this style, but the most used rules are as follows: 8 words minimum, 5 seconds to post a defence otherwise its an auto hit, actual conformations are to be made in following post Or you can't just assume the hit, you have to play out the damage it does.

~Using Close Combat Weapons~

These weapons are those that force you to get really close to an opponent, and are usually things like Knives, Daggers, Short Swords, Anything that forces you to be very close with your opponent. These are mainly used by more "tricky" Players, and especally by Assassins. Retain great caution, because these small blades can be hidden almost anywhere, and can bite when least expected.

~Using Medium ranged Weapons~

Weapons of this style are slightly longer then those above. Usually Long Swords, Whips, Staves, Poles, Halberds, Rapiers, Zwihanders. Weapons that keep a good range between you and your opponent, but not a lot. Usually 3-10 Feet. These weapons hold more destructive power then their shorter ranged versions, but are much slower, and more cumbersome to wield. Just because its bigger, doesn't mean better.

~Using Long Ranged Weapons Or Projectiles~

Now, a Long ranged weapons is in essance, a Projectile. Arrows, Crossbow Bolts, Rocks, Darts, throwing Needles, Shurikin, Kunai, anything Thrown or Shot. Some of the short ranged weapons can become Projectiles, giving them a HUGE versitility level, such as throwing a dagger at an opponent. These weapons take the most skill to master, and are often seen in combat. Their biggest weakness is that once they leave the control of the wielder, they become very unreliable.

~~Most common Weapons~~

~Daggers~

Yeah, almost everyone has at least one. These weapons are small swords in a sence, used for very quick stabbing and Slashing, and generally Throwing as well. Their small size and very low weight makes them not only agile, but fragile as well.

~One Handed Swords~

Generally not classified, so we will run down the lost of most One Handed swords. Long Swords, Short Swords, Bastard swords (On occasion) Rapiers, Cutlass, Simitars and of course, the overused Katana. These swords are the most versitile in wielding capibilities. If you are strong enough, you can wield one of these, and a much larger sword, or two one handed swords, a one handed sword and a shield, one handed sword or a Dagger. The number of combinations is very large, but you get the idea. These swords are the most common among most RPers, almost as much as the Dagger. Their fast and hard hits are solid and trustworthy, good all around weapons.

~Two Handed Weapons~

There are really only about 3 different Two handed weapons, Bastard Swords, Two Handed Swords, Slayer Swords (Or in German Zwihanders) Lets include some of the others, such as the Halberd, The Long Axe, The Spear, The Javiln, the Scythe, Mauls, War Hammers And Large Staves. These are the longest, heaviest, slowest and most destructive weapons, but should not be praised for just that. Although these weapons powers are unprecidented, that does not mean that anything weaker will shatter instantly. Daggers can deflect the blows of larger swords, putting the attacker off balance.

There are plenty more weapons, but what you need to know are different kinds of "Plays." Just like in Football, there are various Plays one can use to gain the advantage.

~The Power Play~

No, this doesn't mean overpowering your character at all. It is actually refering to a hard to accomplish manuver, where you get your opponent into a situation that forces him to get hurt one way or another. For starters, Back your opponent into a wall with a low ceiling, and throw several stars at him in an X style. If they duck, the stars will still get him easily, same with jumping. Moving forward will only hurt him faster, and moving left or right would slam him into a wall. Thats a power play, don't be supprsed to see yourself in these when fighting smart opponents.

~The Counter~

This play involves constantly readying yourself for any attack that comes your way, and being able to counter attack. For instance, lets say somone throws a knife at you. You throw two at him, one deflects his blade the second heads straight for him. Thats the basics of the counter, something that is pretty easy to do, once you get the hang of fighting.

~Using Obstacles to aid you~

Here is one of the harder things to pull off. Lets say you have with you Poison Gas Pelets, that explode with gas whenever they strike something hard. Now your in a forrest, and your opponent is standing right in front of a tree. Chuck a few pellets at the tree, instead of your opponent, go gas him out of there.

Another form of Obstacle useage involves a persons clothing. Take this classic scenario for example. Somone is rushing at you with a sword, so you take off your cape and fling it at them, while throwing Daggers behind the cape, so they can't see or dodge them. Your opponent goes to slash apart the cape, and gets a face full of flying daggers.

There are hundreds, if not thousands of other ways to fight, so don't hesitate to post any questions you may have out there for answering. Remember, you can't learn if you don't ask, and there is never such thing as a stupid question. We will post more as more comes our way.
